What's more romantic: a tandem bike ride, sharing a glass of champagne as you soar above the city on a Ferris wheel, or having a relaxing couples' spa day? I muse over 10 romantic things to do in Singapore, in this blog on travel site ThaHoliday.com. What does the word "island" make you think of? Robinson Crusoe? The Florida Keys? Ireland? I've lived on quite a few islands in my life, but my divemaster training on Koh Tao, Thailand has been my favorite so far. In my blog this week, I relate how my partner and I decided to go to Koh Tao for the first time. Happy travels! Shopping malls are a curious thing. Before I moved to Asia, I had thought them to be a very American icon. While cities in Europe had malls, they weren't town focal points. Asia, however, now does shopping malls better--and bigger--than any I've ever experienced in the US. This week on Novel Adventurers, we're writing about shopping around the world, and I take a look at the vast popularity of Asian shopping malls. Please stop by and take a look! Here's the link. I love to order food with strange names.
It's even better if the food has the word "strange" in it, like I've seen in many Chinese restaurants around the world. "Strange Taste Chicken"--what an intriguing dish! This week on Novel Adventurers, I've written about some of the weirder-named foods I tried while living in China. What strange menu items have you come across in your travels? Here's the link. This week on Novel Adventurers, I write about why I love taking river cruises, and why the Yangtze River cruise is one of the best river-related activities in Asia. Click here to read the post, and while you're there, I'd love it if you left a comment.
This week on Novel Adventurers, we're writing about festivals around the world. I take a look at some Asian festivals that will take place in 2013. What festivals are on your travel wish list for the new year? http://www.noveladventurers.blogspot.com/2012/12/a-year-of-asian-festivals.html
